Kay Takano, CPA, CPCC, ACC

Kay started her coaching journey in 2012 by attending The Co-Active® Training Institute's (CTI) Co-Active Coach® training. She completed her coaching certification and is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC). She also completed CTI®'s leadership training in 2015.

Before her coaching journey, she was an auditor at a public accounting firm, a Controller at a law firm and has been an outsourced accounting manager for start ups in the Southern California area. She mentions this because even though she no longer works as an accountant, her business background of being logical and tactical influences her style of coaching. She balances this with her heart-forward approach to people and life.

She actively volunteers in the Japanese American community of Southern California and currently is a board member of the Nisei Week Foundation.

She is the daughter of two amazing Japanese immigrants and grew up in La Crescenta, CA. Education was a key part of her childhood and her parents made sure she was immersed in both American and Japanese cultures. She attended Asahi Gakuen on Saturdays for 12 years and is fluent in Japanese. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a minor in Accounting from the University of California, Irvine.

She currently resides in Seal Beach, CA with her husband, who is the love of her life. Her sister is her best friend and she values spending time with her friends and family.
